Techtronic Industries contributes to fostering quality human resources in science, technology, and innovation

Exciting, enthusiastic and full of creative spirit - that's what can be felt at the Final Round of the first Integrated Circuit Design Competition for Smart Cities, which took place on May 18 at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. This event was a highlight of the 15th Youth and Innovative Festival, celebrating Vietnam Science & Technology Day. As a proud sponsor, Techtronic Industries Group (TTI) demonstrated unwavering dedication to fostering the growth of science and technology talent in Vietnam.

A beneficial playground for the future generation of engineers

The final round was held during the 15th HCMC Youth and Innovative Festival which was chaired by the SHTP management board in collaboration with HCMC Youth Union, HCMC Department of Information and Communications, Department of Science and Technology, HCMC National University (VNU-HNU) and leading technology corporations including TTI.

Involving project teams from leading universities in technology training across the country such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Polytechnic University (VNU-HNU), University of Natural Sciences (VNU-HNU), HCMC University of Technology and Education,… The final witnessed vibrant competition among 5 exceptional groups with excellent creative projects, meticulously chosen through rigorous evaluations by industry experts and engineers in the field of Science and Technology. According to that, the first prize of the 2023 Integrated Circuit Design Competition belonged to the AFE team from the University Of Science - HCMC National University. Subsequently, the SIGSEGV team from the HCMC University of Technology and Education achieved second prize. The third prize belonged to the ADC team, also from the University Of Science - HCMC National University. In addition, four consolation prizes were awarded to the DNH, DFCE-UIT, TESLA_00, and 2M teams.

The contestants received questions and feedback from the Expert Committee on the applicability of the product to real-world situations.

In recent years, TTI has continuously supported such programs to discover and facilitate talents in science and technology to nurture high-quality talent and foster innovation in science and technology across the city and the nation. By engaging with SHTP, TTI commits to a shared vision of providing meaningful platforms for young engineers, envisaging enhancing science - technology progression and sustainable development.

We take great pride and honor in participating in this collaboration for the City’s first Integrated Circuit Design Competition. The participation underscores our commitment and contribution towards the City’s smart urban development and sustainable growth objectives.”

Ms. Tran Thuy Linh An, Vice President, Human Resources and Strategic Projects and Mr. Phan Thong, Vice President of Shared Facility Management received flowers of gratitude and thank-you letter from the Organizing Committee for TTI's support activities with SHTP.

Ms. Tran Thuy Linh An, Vice President, Human Resources and Strategic Projects, shared: “At TTI Vietnam, building Exceptional People plays a core role in our talent development strategy and is the inspiration for all of the company's activities. Our commitments focus not only on developing our internal talents, but also contributing to the local talent in general. Through diverse collaborations with relevant partners, TTI aims to nurture passion, promote professional exchange, and foster a spirit of learning among the younger generation. This will provide a valuable foundation for young people on their path to future career development.”

In line with the mission to educate local talents, TTI Vietnam partnered with the HCMC Young Talent Sponsorship Fund in March of this year to organize an awards ceremony and support 10 young talents in various fields including Science and Technology. This initiative aimed to assist these individuals in covering expenses related to education, research, training, and international competitions. Before this, TTI Vietnam and members of the German Business Association (GBA) organized the “GBA Business Challenge” startup competition to support young talents in turning their entrepreneurial ideas into reality.

"The initiatives presented by the young participants in today’s competition have truly impressed us, particularly their ability to apply learned knowledge to devise practical solutions for smart, sustainable, and modern cities. TTI is very excited to see such vigorous growth of the local talent engineers, and we hope that some of these outstanding engineers may choose to join TTI one day”, Ms. Sharon LiXu emphasized.

Since its establishment in Vietnam, TTI has identified this market as one of the long-term commitments, actively engaging in social responsibilities to make positive impacts on the local community. Through both business operations and social activities, TTI pledges to contribute to the development of high-quality human resources, promote advancement in science, technology, and innovation, and conduct breakthrough research initiatives for sustainable development in Vietnamese society.
